Aug 1993, American Water Systems, Inc. purchases its first office building for their water treatment firm. President, Denise Bittner explains, “This will provide main road exposure and a place where our clients can have a centralized location for water testing and water treatment information.”
Jul 1994, The Warner Companies, the largest private mechanical company in the country, purchases American Water Systems, Inc. and creates Warner Water Treatment. Denise Bittner, founder and President of American Water Systems, Inc. established in 1984, heads the water treatment division, which includes 35 locations and plumbing and HVAC divisions. “With Warner’s resources, we expect to establish the strongest presence in the Washington Metro area of this type of water treatment retail and service entity. It is a very exciting time”, says Bittner. Mrs. Bittner holds a level of Water Quality Association’s certification possessed by only 35 women in the country.
Jan 1995, Denise Bittner, Director of Warner Water Treatment, is appointed first woman Vice President of Warner Plumbing of MD, the parent corporation to Warner Water Treatment.
Jul 1995, A drunk driver plows into the front of a building at 17 N Frederick Avenue, on Rt. 355, a main Gaithersburg artery, The owner of the property will take this opportunity to “facelift” the near historic building.
Aug 1995, American Water Technologies, Inc. a newly formed corporation, whose co-founder and President is Denise Bittner, previously a VP at the Warner Corporation, opens up a new type of store that offers water treatment equipment and services in a wholesale outlet format.
Sep 1995, Denise Bittner, President of American Water Technologies, Inc. is awarded the Governor’s citation by the State of Maryland. Gaithersburg Chamber of Commerce performs a ribbon cutting of newly renovated and reopened location. The ensuing festivities include customer barbecue and raffles, and national vendor participation, including Aqua Treatment Services, Hague Water Conditioning, and Nelsen Corporation. The well known purple dinosaur, Barney, was in attendance and was a smash with all the kids!
May 1997, American Water Technologies, Inc. and Solutions In Aqua join forces as a wholesale outlet of water treatment systems and service, giving the consumer more choices and support for the do it yourselfer. The Solutions In Aqua label is created offering many products previously unavailable at the end user level.
Aug 1997, American Water Technologies, Inc. reports much higher than expected numbers for its first quarter. Jim Grimm’s appointment as CFO of the company is integrally responsible for this success. Mr. Grimm holds two masters degrees in finance and economics and is a welcome addition to the organization.
Jan 1998, American Water Technologies, Inc. is invited to work with the Department of Energy on the federally sponsored “HTwoO” awareness program for elementary school children. Gene Bittner, Technical Director at American Water Technologies, Inc., designs the CATT (Controlled Aqua Treatment Table) display which is a working model showing their various effects on water. The “HTwoO” project is designed and presented, and Mr. Bittner speaks to the audience in a televised press conference along side Nobel Prize Laureate in physics and the Assistant Secretary of Energy, et al.
Feb 1999, American Water Technologies, Inc. offers end user financing with flexible terms and deferred payment plans with their own private label credit card.
May 2000, Gene Bittner, Technical Director of AWT/Solutions In Aqua, and Richard Vanderhoof, bio chemist and CEO of Augias, Inc., design water treatment and pumping solutions for the Augias project in Lagos, Nigeria. Augias is also involved in bio remediation for Shell Oil.
May 2002, Gennico Industries, Inc. board of directors is formed and becomes parent company for Solutions In Aqua. Gene Bittner is appointed President and CEO.
Aug 2003, Gene Bittner, President and CEO of Gennico Industries, Inc./Solutions In Aqua, announces his first patent on an innovative and very different approach to point of entry water treatment.
Apr 2003, Ben Franklin Plumbing, recently franchised and formerly Keys Plumbing, purchases American Water Technologies, Inc. service division in the Montgomery County, MD and surrounding areas.
Oct 2004, Gennico Industries/Solutions In Aqua move their facilities to their new industrial site in Venice, Florida and continue research and development of the Podulus System 7 system whose patent is licensed by Gene Bittner, Pres and CEO of the company.
Nov 2006, Gennico Industries, Inc. National Sales Director and E.V.P., opens dialog with Washington Mutual Bank to offer financing nationally to the companies authorized dealers through their SBA product for profitable businesses with a 1 year history.
July 2007, Mr. Ron Ruday joins the team at Solutions In Aqua in the Manufacturing Operations Division. Mr. Ruday, a graduate of Columbia Pacific as well as as Heald Engineering College, additionally holds a Six Sigma Certification from Villanova University. He has been involved in manufacturing operations for Sonic Solutions, Explore Technologies, Resound Corporation, and LSI Logic of Canada, to name a few. Welcome Ron!
Oct 2007, Solutions In Aqua welcomes word renowned Senior Engineer, Lisa Fitzgerald of Andromeda-Tech, who takes control of tooling and mold design work on the Podulus System 7. Her 25 years of experience in industrial tooling and design is invaluable and her ability to design complex parts, and make them easily manufactured and molded creates a turning point in production costs of the Podulus System 7 product line.
Dec 2007, Gene Bittner, President and CEO of Gennico Industries, Inc. t/a Solutions In Aqua, receives his second patent release on the Podulus System 7.
Feb 2008, Podulus Technology takes on life with approved trademarks now registered at the US Trademark Office.
Mar 2008, Gennico Industries, Inc./Solutions In Aqua, presents their own multi patented Podulus System 7 industry changing POE system to the world at the Aquatech International show in Las Vegas, NV, hosted by the Water Quality Association. With interest levels high, industry icons take a first hand look at this remarkable product sure to cause a lot of industry buzz. A conversation with Karen Smith of Water Conditioning and Purification Magazine, describes the fascination caused by this new product introduction, “there’s nothing else like this out here, and the industry has been stagnant for a very long time, so it’s well overdue.”
Apr 2008, Mr. Peter Cartwright, P.E. of Cartwright Consulting Co., a well known and respected independent industry consultant, writes favorably about the new Podulus System 7 product line offered by Solutions In Aqua. His article, along with previous papers and lectures are posted on the SIA website.
Apr 2008, Solutions in Aqua, a Division of Gennico Industries, Inc. posts its new line, the “RED HEAD”, schedule to roll out later this year.
May 2008, Pentair Water expresses interest in offering their valve products to be used with the new Podulus System 7 product line. Pentair Water is one of the largest manufacturers of water treatment in the world, owning Fleckenstein Valves, which offers one of the most sophisticated control timers on the market, Structural Fibers (tanks), and other divisions servicing the pool equipment, pump, and other related markets.
Jun 2008, Solutions In Aqua, puts on another great exhibit at the Florida Water Quality trade show in Orlando, Fl, where the Podulus System 7® is unveiled to the Florida market for the first time. Once again, the product brings a lot of attention from not only dealers, but OEM's and manufacturers. Orders were also taken for the new RED HEAD product line.

Sep 2008, The Podulite™ model of the PODULUS SYSTEM 7© line is engineered. This unit will allow an introductory phase of the line to pave the way for future products. Even though it does not have all the features, this "econo model" most importantly allows much needed full access to compartmentalized chambers as in its parent system.
Oct 2008, The PODULUS SYSTEM 7© gains more notariety by winning the Invent Bay, Inc. Finalist Award for best invention at the Las Vegas exhibition at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. Cameras rolled from the Tonight Show, Everyday Edisons, and the Discovery Channel, as the film crews observed the inventions and the winners.

Apr 2009, With two shows in March, Solutions In Aqua once again creates interest in their various products. Commercial and industrial entity inquiries are pouring in regarding the "RIGHT ANGLE" product not yet in production. The RIGHT ANGLE will be sold as a combination product with the RED HEAD, and will provide 360 degree rotation for valve realignment, while the RED HEAD™ provides quick and easy water purging with dry bed results. While full production is expected to occur next quarter, Mattson/Witt will be quoting pre production products to meet some of the current orders. Interested parties included American suppliers as well as Canadian, Argentinian and Japanese distributors. Additionally, hundreds of dealers from accross the country have visited the web site directly or through the WQA web site, and are ready to order the RED HEAD™ residential once product rolls out.
Aug 2009, The RED HEAD™ arrives and is expected to sell out before next run arrives. Email campaigns coupled with the Well Driller's show in Myrtle Beach and lingering calls from trade magazine new product announcements, have created enough interest to keep the staff very busy!
